BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (DIRECTOR TO VP LEVEL)
We are looking to grow business development activities across North America to support our CDMO offerings across the globe, and we are always looking for confident high- caliber individuals with passion and high adaptability to diversity.

• Identify and develop new business opportunities for the company. Prospect pharmaceutical companies seeking
CDMO services to qualify new projects with scientists and demonstrate our professional touch as a world class
supplier.
• Deeply understand customer needs to ensure accuracy, timely revision, and fair pricing of our proposals to
deliver a memorable customer experience.
• Help to build the sales process and record information in the CRM database to enable both peers and
commercial leadership across the greater Porton network to communicate and succeed.
• Provide voice-of-customer to internal partners and continuously build field sales opinions to evolve our value
proposition while in startup mode.
• Local travel to visit customers. Limited travel outside of territory for meetings and conferences not to exceed
30%.
• Work closely with leadership and cross-functional members of the management team to drive and implement
corporate strategy and long-range planning based on current portfolio opportunities and risks, financing needs
and organizational capabilities. Assist in identifying portfolio, financing, and/or organizational gaps and plans
for how to best address them.
• Budget control, revenue and expense strategy management.
• Expand the profile and reach of the company and its brands, develop and strengthen internal and external
relationships that will lead to increased lead generation and market share.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Ideally has an existing customer network, positive relationships, and knowledge of agreement execution from a
previous CDMO business development role.
• Has sold related products or services to learn a variety of approaches when selling to startups vs. big pharma.
• Proficiency with CRM or customer relationship management tools.
• Formal training in a consultative or solution-based sales methodology is a plus.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, ability to communicate accessibly and concisely about
product or service to outsiders, including prospective customers and clients, partners, and vendors.
• Effective organizational skills.
• Big-picture thinking.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required; MBA or post graduate scientific degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of field sales or business development experience in the life sciences industry.
