As a Vice President of Business Development you will own and direct our enterprise business development initiatives, such as market studies, customer plan development, industry engagement and most importantly, building a team of regionally based business development staff that will work predominately in the field.


What You'll Do


  • Perform market research and provide detailed analysis and insights on the energy/construction industry that can be converted into tangible BD strategies
  • Evaluate current state of business development initiatives and build a strategic road map to ideal/future state with alignment to company goals
  • Be the liaison for industry engagement and a collaborative partner across corporate and our subsidiaries
  • Create and implement business development initiatives for Centuri and its subsidiaries across North America and Canada
  • Design and implement successful customer planning strategies for our different lines of business
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
  • Build out and lead a regionally based field Business Development team


What You'll Have


  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Business Development Leadership role
  • Expertise with detailed market research and strategic analytics
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing or related field of study
  • Strong project and program management skills
  • Expertise working in a hybrid Agile/ Waterfall environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Experience working in the utility/energy industry required
  • Experience building out a regional BD team


Preferred Qualifications


  • Expertise in Sales Management, Marketing, Strategic Management and Business Planning
  • Power User in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Master’s degree, MBA or graduate degree preferred

Work Environment


  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Work is performed in an office and field environment
