Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY / JOB PURPOSE:

The Vice President of Global Brand Marketing & Communications for Celebrity Cruises provides leadership and management over a majority of the marketing department. They define the key marketing strategies, brand positioning, partnerships, go to market strategies and oversee all organic communication channels such as PR and social media.

This position oversees development and execution of global marketing campaigns across the business, including go-to-market. This includes leading a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the implementation of marketing ideas that drive business across the brand, provide for global scale, and drive strategic initiatives in support of continuous improvement across the brand.

This role is responsible for developing and building strong, relationships with product owners, collaborating closely with external marketing partners, and 30+ partners including internal channel partners, Hotel Operations, Onboard Revenue, Sales and Revenue Management to maintain brand position and communication consistency for all brand and product initiatives. This person plays a key role in keeping Celebrity Cruises at the forefront of travel and relevant to our current and target guests to improve conversion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a social media and public relations strategy that separates Celebrity Cruises from the category, earning a disproportionate share of the conversation and coverage. Build a best-in-class team and forge strategic partnerships with agencies and influencers across relevant media channels, to firmly establish our Relaxed Luxury Resorts at Sea position.
  • Lead a seasoned team of more than 35 internal creatives, strategic marketers and communication experts, in addition to multiple agencies and marketing partners.
  • Provides strong, proactive leadership to build/maintain a positive business climate and motivate employees and function as a positive, effective advocate for change and growth.
  • Sets strategic direction of key brand projects including new products/service implementation, and actively participate in projects across all key touch points which affect the look, feel and experience of the Brand.
  • Drives the marketing communications strategy that enhances brand equity and grows awareness. A key priority will be to aggressively strengthen and continue to develop the brand positioning to achieve and maintain clear leadership and significant mindshare relative to competitors.
  • Constantly strives for innovation opportunities within social media, to ensure the brand stays best in class in terms of performance
  • Leads all organic communication efforts across PR and social media

  • Oversees a team of destination-focused product experts responsible for the effective communication and marketing of the product across integrated internal and external channels.
  • Develops and implements partnership strategy across the brand to grow brand equity and drive brand preference.
  • Responsible for leading the Creative team to ensure creative is consistent, strategic and delivers on the brand position that differentiates Celebrity from competition.
  • Drives a comprehensive marketing strategy, including positioning, product/service offerings, branding and communications strategies. This plan will include go-to-market strategies that integrate the separate approaches in each channel with a fully integrated plan both for the direct-to-consumer and the travel agency distribution business models.
  • Oversees all initiatives in brand advertising, brand identity, promotions, sponsorships, industry events and collateral.
  • Collaborates closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Operations and ShoreEx teams to develop a strategic communication roadmap for all products and integrate into messaging as part of the brand proposition.
  • Ensure Celebrity’s marketing strategies are aligned with brand vision, mission, values, and business needs.
  • Oversight and input of crisis communications, digital/web/social media communications, brand reputation and social responsibility
  • Leverage consumer needs, mindsets, and purchase behaviors and competitive landscape to provide foundation for refining the brand positioning that helps grow new to brand and new to cruise market.


FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Revenue targets far exceeding $2B
  • Financial responsibilities for budget, expenses and achievement of revenue targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Travel industry experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferable in Marketing or relevant field
  • Proven Senior Leader focused on team engagement and employee development.
  • At least 15 years of Marketing and strategy development and Marketing oversight.
  • Strong business vision, planning, and analysis capabilities.
  • Proven experience with budget management, analytics, ROI assessment and project road mapping.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Strong ability to interact with senior management team and build effective relationships within the company as well as with internal and external customers.
  • Must be extremely customer-service oriented.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret customer research, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Strong planning capabilities to identify and prioritize communication strategies and activities as well as to meet the deadlines required to support media and business needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
