Role Description


Responsibility Will Cover Future-state Corporate Treasury, Specifically The Following


This position is with Financial Resource Management (FRM) and is part of U.S. Chief Financial Officer (“U.S. CFO”) organization.


  • As core member of Corporate Treasury function help devise integrated funding strategy, funding flow, managing risk, and senior management reporting
  • Build the capabilities in collaboration with Risk function, Operations, Technology
  • Conduct current-state capability gap analysis (regulatory and peer-practice)


Role Objectives


  • Develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders to understand the end-to-end process of transactions, continuously identify risks, and design solutions that mitigate them
  • Compliance with the firm's code of conduct and adhere to proper controls policies and procedures which are applicable.
  • Enhance CUSO FTP framework which will include target operating model, policies & procedures, governance, methodology, and implementation
  • Work with Liquidity Management, Capital Management and Funding Desk to create an Integrated view of funding, risk, and balance sheet steering
  • Drive execution of key strategic initiatives pertaining to Funds Transfer Pricing
  • Align FTP charging mechanism to Liquidity & IRRBB framework and with firms strategy;
  • Drive business engagement to timely update upcoming FTP related changes, address any deficiencies, and provide transparency to cost and benefit allocation
  • Drive end-to-end implementation of FTP principles for SMBC America’s Division
  • Define standard FTP management report by entity/business/product increasing transparency on BAU funding cost and contingent liquidity risk cost


Qualifications And Skills


  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent writing skills, previous experience in drafting policies or procedures is highly preferred;
  • 5+ years of working experience in financial industry in Corporate Treasury, Finance, or Risk departments – prior experience in Liquidity & Funding/ALM/Balance Sheet Management/FTP is preferred;
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications;
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, computer science or related field, Master’s degree preferred; and
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to independently work across functional groups inclusive of front/middle/back-office functions;
  • MBA/CFA/FRM/CPA or other professional qualification highly preferred.
