Honeywell Performance Materials & Technologies (PMT) is a global provider in developing and manufacturing high-quality performance chemicals and materials, process technologies, and automation solutions. The segment is comprised of Process Solutions, UOP, and Advanced Materials.
• Process Solutions provides automation control, instrumentation, advanced software, and related services for the oil and gas, refining, pulp and paper, industrial power generation, chemicals and petrochemicals, biofuels, life sciences, and metals, minerals, and mining industries. Through its smart energy products, Process Solutions enables utilities and distribution companies to deploy advanced capabilities to improve operations, reliability, and environmental sustainability.
• UOP provides process technology, products, including catalysts and adsorbents, equipment, and consulting services that enable customers to efficiently produce gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, petrochemicals, and renewable fuels for the petroleum refining, gas processing, petrochemical, and other industries.
• Advanced Materials manufactures a wide variety of high-performance products, including materials used to manufacture end products such as bullet-resistant armor, nylon, computer chips, and pharmaceutical packaging, and provides reduced and low global warming potential materials based on hydrofluoro-olefin technology.
The VP - Project Controls manages and oversees project controls for Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT), including HPS, UOP, Capital Engineering, and Smart Energy. This role is responsible for driving strong project controls to ensure that PMT delivers on its financial commitments. Also, this leader is responsible for providing transparency to risk and driving mitigation actions. The PMT PCO VP will lead a team of 100 employees including recruiting and developing talent.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the PMT PCO function, including HPS, UOP, Capital Engineering, and Smart Energy. Projects vary in size/complexity but include large LNG projects, first-of-a-kind sustainability projects, and multi-million-dollar capital expansions.
• Establish the function by setting a high bar for talent and processes.
• Recruit and develop a global team of 100 employees
• Accountable to the PMT CEO and PMT CFO for providing transparency and risk mitigation on project portfolio
• Ensure world-class processes are deployed to manage project costs, budget, and schedule. Drive change orders and margin rate on change orders.
• Establish early warning & Business Risk Mitigation Framework across all the projects businesses.
• Responsible for implementation of the standard Project Controls tool sets and work processes on all projects
• Assess, Audit, and Approve all Risks and Opportunities
• Drive controls discipline and maturity via Global Project Management Office Accelerator and Playbook
• Visit customer sites and plants for independent audits related to Milestones, Milestone dependencies, Supplier / Subcontractor performance, and adherence to contractual terms and plans
• Ensure Risk and Opportunities Net and Cross financial impacts
• Deploy PCO Incentive Plan to drive performance and behavioral changes.
• Direct interactions with various customers
YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related degree
• Minimum 15 years of Project Controls experience
• People leadership experience

• Understanding of Finance (concepts and work processes), Cost risk analysis and contingency management, Cash flow (planned, actual, forecast)
• Global Project Management experience, including Scheduling
• PMP Certification
• Leadership experience preferably in an international, multi-site and multicultural business environment
• Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources and able to provide optimal solutions to problems
• Courage – ability to provide transparency to project risks and partner with SBUs to drive resolution
• Ability to convey a strong sense of urgency and drive resolution of issues to closure
• Experience in oil & gas, sustainability, and capital projects.
• Knowledge of SAP Projects Module, Primavera Project Planner
• Cora/Planview experience.
