The Vice President of Operations LATAM is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the logistics functions within Latin America. To this end, the incumbent will, among other responsibilities, ensure superior execution of product supply operations, operate within established cost guidelines, and continually evaluate unit personnel performance and needs. Direct reports will include the Heads of Departments for Customer Operations, DC/Copacker Operations, Transportation/Logistics, and Planning.
Essential Job Functions:
- Implement Continuous Process Improvement Programs across all departments.
- Be accountable for product supply to the President of the Americas business unit (BU).
- Manage all aspects of the supply planning process (demand, production, and raw material).
- Ensure that orders are fulfilled to support the BU and retail sales strategy.
- Develop Supply Chain strategies that support target COGs by product type and region.
- Develop and maintain copacker performance review program.
- Develop annual productivity programs to improve all costs across the operations vertical to include but not limited to DC/Copacking, Transportation, and network optimization.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) by function and location.
- Manage all shipments to support company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
- Represent Company and the brands effectively to all constituencies, maintaining at all times a professional code of conduct in support of this.
- Evaluate each unit’s personnel needs and assess individual performances toward identifying and meeting those needs, working through and with direct reports.
- Execute all new product introductions timely and in-full.
- Manage all aspects of 3rd party DC and copacker.
- Manage all aspects of the North America and International transportation programs.
- Train, direct, and develop personnel so that they can meet their full.
- Manage the Inventory Control functions and ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory across all locations that store and/or consume finished goods, raw materials, and packaging.
Requirements:
- Understanding of logistics techniques and strategies and their applications toward minimizing delivered
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management or business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Possession of superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to perform physical activities that may be required of the position, including, but not limited to, the ability to travel on both day and overnight trips via both private and public transportation; the ability to conduct inspections of product and facilities; and the ability to perform tasks outside of an office environment.
- Experience in the beverage industry.
- Understanding of special challenges presented by a complex supply chain in a dynamic organization, coupled with the ability to direct, motivate, and develop subordinates in that type of environment.
- Demonstrated success in exceeding customer expectations while both managing and reducing cost with a complex business entity or unit.
- Possession of superior analytical and organizational.
- Ability to utilize appropriate technology toward predicting, tracking, and reporting business and functional performance.
- Requires 10 + years of experience in operations.
- Willingness to accept and perform extra-business unit tasks that may from time-to-time be assigned.
- Ability to understand and utilize data provided by Company and by industry sources toward achieving success.
