Job Description

Seeking South Florida Candidates in Broward, Palm Beach and/or Miami Dade Counties.


Fast Moving Consumer Products (FMCP) company with distribution across most major retail channels with a blue-chip customer base including Walmart, Target, Amazon, Kroger, Walgreens, and many more.


Experience

  • Global logistics experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in operations or engineering preferred.
  • Must have experience in Operations role doing business with retailers such as Walmart or Walgreens or any other big box retailer
  • Experience managing forecasting, planning, and inventory and addressing excess and slow-moving inventory, etc.
  • Track record of demonstrable results.
  • Experience working with and servicing big box retailers, including Walmart.
  • Experience bridging needs of sales and marketing with those of operations.
  • Experience working with Asian factories and suppliers.
  • Understands and has implemented Lean and other processes to improve business operations.
  • Has negotiated contracts and managed supplier performance to service level agreements (“SLA’s”) and contract terms.
  • 10+ years of increasing experience including time spent managing Warehouse/Distribution facility or departments within large facility.
  • Prior experience participating in the forecasting, planning and inventory management process - ideally leader of process.


Roles and Responsibilities

The VP of Operations will have the following areas of responsibility,

  1. Warehouse and Pick/Pack facility.
  2. Oversight of the Forecasting and Planning Process.
  3. Customer Service Department.
  4. Global Logistics and Transportation.
  5. Manage existing factory relationships, primarily in China, to ensure best quality, service and cost.
  6. Partner with the Product Development organization to identify, qualify and onboard new factories.
  7. Oversight of China based Quality department.


Responsible for Order Fulfillment process from Forecasting/Planning through shipment of orders.Strong focus on providing outstanding quality and performance to our customers while improving efficiency, optimizing costs and effectively managing inventory investment.

  1. Evaluate current processes, and update where necessary, to improve productivity and service throughout operation.
  2. Establish metrics and performance management processes to drive results.


Forecasting, Planning and Inventory Management

  1. Work closely with Sales and Finance to maintain accurate customer/category level forecasts.
  2. Lead regular Sales and Operations Planning meetings effectively ”quarterbacking” the organization to deliver on time, in compliance, at lowest cost and within agreed upon inventory turn goals.
  3. Manage Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  4. Refine and improve existing forecasting and planning process to optimize inventory levels.
  5. Oversee standard costing methodology.
  6. Lead annual physical inventory.


Provide leadership to Warehouse management

  1. Ensure metrics are in place to support desired outcomes.
  2. Plan and manage against variable labor and staffing plans.
  3. Create a work environment and compensation structure that attracts and retains strong talent.
  4. Find new ways to improve processes and leverage information to continuously improve the operation.

Supplier Management

  1. Work with existing suppliers to ensure quality and delivery standards are understood and achieved.
  2. Assess current suppliers with focus on delivery, service and logistics capabilities.
  3. In collaboration with Product Development assess and qualify new factories that can deliver capabilities to support innovation plans.


Logistics and Transportation

  1. Manage freight forwarder relationships to ensure lowest cost and highest service-levels.
  2. Oversee inbound and expedited freight forecasting.
  3. Establish processes to ensure organization is utilizing lowest-cost options for inter-office and customer sample shipments.
