Vice President of Commercial and Marketing


DEPARTMENT: Sales and Marketing

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing to lead our team and drive the success of our company's commercial efforts. In this senior-level role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan, collaborating with the technical team to optimize sales strategies, and overseeing the management of our commercial opportunities pipeline. Your primary objective will be to ensure the overall success of our sales initiatives.


MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, your key responsibilities will include identifying and pursuing leads, establishing and nurturing client relationships, and facilitating the seamless transition of projects to Technical Sales and Technical Project Managers. You will also play a critical role in establishing partnerships with relevant USG agencies, working towards securing contracts as well as securing contracts with commercial energy customers. Additionally, you will take the lead in developing and executing our marketing strategy, including the allocation of resources and the training of staff. A crucial part of your role will involve coaching and mentoring our technical sales team.


We are seeking a candidate who is comfortable engaging with top-level executives within client organizations, while also being adept at managing and mentoring junior staff members. Extensive travel to industry conferences nationwide and visiting key customers on-site will be required.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this position, you should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a proven track record of structuring and leading successful sales teams. Experience in developing and measuring sales metrics, as well as providing regular reports on performance, is essential. Your ability to inspire and motivate teams, coupled with a customer-centric approach to relationship management, will be critical for success.

Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of successfully closing large contracts within the energy industry, specifically in oil & gas.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

While a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred, candidates with at least ten years of relevant experience may also be considered.


Experience:

A minimum of ten years of experience at a senior sales level is required, preferably with a focus on New-Space and governmental contracts.


Other:

The ability to travel up to 50% of the time and work outside of regular hours for customer-facing events is necessary. You should also be physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.

Fluency in English and exceptional communication skills are mandatory and fluency in a second language would be advantageous, preferably Italian or Spanish.
