Job Description


Job title: Vice President (VP) of Sales


Job statement: This role will have overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the sales


strategy for our Metrix™ molecular diagnostic products across the United States.


Location: Santa Barbara, CA (Remote/Hybrid).

About The Role


This position can be remote or hybrid. Aptitude’s offices are in Santa Barbara, California – an idyllic location offering immense natural beauty, outdoor adventure, big city amenities in a mid-sized town, and easy access to California’s metropolitan centers. The position may entail frequent travel to distributor or customer locations and working outside of regular business hours.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans in line with company objectives.
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency and increase sales.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment of company-wide goals.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team to achieve set sales targets.
  • Establish key sales processes and spearhead initial sales.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
  • Understand market shifts and competition status, identify emerging markets.


Qualifications


  • Prior experience in building and managing a high-performance sales team.
  • Proven work experience as a VP of Sales, Sales Director, or similar senior role in Sales or Business Development.
  • Prior experience in launching a new product and/or entering a new market segment with an existing product.
  • Prior experience working in a high-growth startup strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Medical device industry, with a strong track record of meeting sales targets; experience in molecular diagnostics/point-of-care diagnostics strongly preferred.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and proven ability to close strategic accounts.
