Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Vice President of Manufacturing to oversee and drive our manufacturing operations. As the Vice President of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for leading a team, optimizing production processes, ensuring quality control, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability. This is a critical leadership role that requires exceptional operational expertise, strong decision-making skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Provide strategic direction and vision for the manufacturing function, aligning it with overall business goals and objectives.
Operations Management:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, capacity management, and resource allocation.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track manufacturing performance and drive corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Quality Control and Assurance:
- Drive a culture of quality throughout the manufacturing organization, promoting a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, implementing preventive measures and corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and implement robust quality control processes to ensure adherence to product specifications and standards.
Supply Chain Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure cost-effective and reliable sources of materials.
- Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks, proactively addressing potential disruptions to maintain smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the procurement and logistics teams to optimize supply chain operations, ensuring timely availability of raw materials and components.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements without compromising quality and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, ensuring effective utilization of resources and cost control measures.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in progressively responsible manufacturing leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, and technologies, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
