VP of Purchasing and Supply Chain

We are seeking a Vice President of Purchasing and Supply Chain to join our team!This is a newly created position due to our rapid growth.


Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the VP of Purchasing and Supply Chain will drive operational excellence in Accelevation’s supply chain. This will be accomplished by developing and executing a supply chain strategy focused on the responsive and efficient procurement of quality, cost competitive parts for use in manufacturing Accelevation’s products and running its operations while carefully managing the cost of carrying inventory. This role will supervise Buyer/Planners across the organization as well as vendor and consulting arrangements.

Success in this role will be demonstrated by reducing material cost while improving Quality, optimizing supplier delivery performance to maximize production uptime, maximizing inventory utilization, and choosing the suppliers to provide the best technical solutions to support sustained growth and profitability.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • All other duties as assigned by management.
  • As an internal control owner, act as lead in developing, maintaining, and documenting processes to ensure the timely and accurate completion of assigned operations verified by effective internal controls to comply with legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence in supply chain capabilities through development and execution of a strategic roadmap.
  • Develop and implement inventory management and control strategies to reduce cost while meeting customer service requirements.
  • Negotiates recourse with suppliers when root cause analysis ties back supplier quality related issues. As necessary, collaborates with legal, commercial, and quality to manage subsequent recalls and litigation directed at suppliers.
  • Hire, train, coach, and manage an integrated Supply Chain team establishing performance standards, evaluating individual and team performance, ensuring company policies are adhered to, and meeting leadership’s goals.
  • Ensure all regulatory and legal reporting requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Warranty, and IT to develop and maintain a Supplier Score Card with responsiveness, cost, and quality metrics which are shared throughout the organization and with the vendors to aid in the evaluation of supplier performance and to selection of new suppliers.
  • Engage in strategic negotiations to achieve favorable conditions and strong supplier partnerships while leveraging spending globally to exploit all opportunities.


Requirements:

  • Forecast trends accurately.
  • Run effective and efficient supply chain operation,
  • Demonstrated success at recruiting, hiring, developing, and managing a top-performing Supply Chain team.
  • Build strategic supply chain partnerships,
  • React quickly to challenges.
  • Proven success at leveraging extensive subject matter expertise in global supply chain competencies (purchasing, capacity planning across the value chain, supplier quality, and logistics) and a well-developed professional network of automotive industry, suppliers, and competitors to:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or Logistics. May substitute for the degree direct applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis which built competencies and subject matter expertise.
  • Leadership experience over manufacturing Supply Chain operations with the demonstrated ability to drive and execute long-term strategies to achieve growth and profitably objectives.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Solid working knowledge of best practices, planning and purchasing systems, and experience with systems selection, implementation, and upgrades.
  • In depth understanding of Epicor or similar supply chain ERP technology (SAP, JDA, Oracle, Infor Global Solutions)
  • Understanding of manufacturing MRP logic and Supply Chain Planning systems.
  • An advanced degree in Business or Engineering is beneficial.
  • Proven operational experience and change management in a fast-growing business environment including a strong track record in meeting expectations and delivering on commitments.
