Job Description
Full time | Chicago (IL), Bloomington (IN), or Remote

Having recently celebrated our 20th anniversary marked by continued and significant growth, Fine Tune takes great pride in maintaining our fun and nimble entrepreneurial work environment.

Our unofficial motto is “no clowns.” We’re looking for people who are self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate to help our team level up. We are a tight-knit group that is accountable to each other.

Our team of “Tuners” brings a blue-collar effort to our white-collar jobs each and every day. Even our senior executives are outstanding individual contributors in their various disciplines.

Fine Tune is comprised of professionals who take our work seriously while also maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

The role you'll play

Fine Tune is seeking a high-performing Vice President of Growth—a strategically seasoned go-to-market and business development executive with superior professional skills, broad business sense, team leadership experience, and a team-oriented, participatory operating style.

Working alongside Fine Tune’s CEO and participating as a member of Fine Tune’s Steering Committee, you will be responsible for devising and implementing strategic sales and revenue-generating initiatives to grow our client base, forging new channel partnerships, partnering with Marketing to build demand for Fine Tune’s offerings, and overseeing a small team of sales professionals.

You’ll be responsible for identifying new growth opportunities, as well as optimizing existing processes to ensure they are cost-effective and scalable.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Fine Tune growth strategy aligned with the company's overall vision, goals, and values. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., category offering leaders, Marketing, Technology, Finance) to ensure alignment and seamless execution of strategic initiatives.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and industry trend monitoring to identify growth opportunities, market gaps, and potential challenges.

Partnership Development:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including complementary category consultant providers, influential industry communities, and technology partners. Negotiate and secure partnerships that enhance Fine Tune’s reach and service offerings.

Business Development:

  • Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, expansion into new markets, and support the development of new service lines. Create business models that drive revenue growth and profitability.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide inspirational leadership to the existing team of business development professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for business growth and strategy initiatives. Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and take corrective actions as needed.

Metrics & Reporting:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of growth strategies. Regularly analyze and report on KPIs to executive leadership.

  • A great attitude and love for interdependent team collaboration
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of procurement and expense management trends, regulations, and best practices
  • A bachelor's degree in business, sales, or a related field
  • Proven track record of successfully driving business growth, expanding market share, and achieving revenue targets
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions
  • A natural curiosity and growth mindset, always looking to improve
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategy, and leadership roles; selling into finance, operations, and procurement/sourcing departments and/or manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical, steel, oil and gas, automotive, retail, consulting (technology or enterprise solutions)
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
  • Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams
