VP, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Your Role:

• Direct Cake’s annual budgeting and monthly forecast processes, including reporting on actual results versus Plan/Forecast.
• Define and monitor key business drivers and help develop dashboards and cadenced reporting for use by the functional team leads, broader Cake team, and Board of Directors.
• Partner with key leaders to anticipate future business changes and proactively develop and implement plans.
• Serve as key analytical support partner across multiple functional teams (inventory planning, supply chain, performance marketing, sales channel leads/agencies).
• Oversee ad hoc financial analysis to deliver data-driven, actionable insights to support decision-making.

Reporting Structure:

• You will partner closely with Cake’s Head of Operations to ensure proactive supply planning and demand forecasting.
• You will partner closely with Cake’s CMO and Head of Media to ensure a coordinated effort between marketing and analytics.
• You will report directly to Cake’s Founder & CEO, Hunter Morris.

Qualifications:

• Experience partnering with cross-functional business units (e.g. sales, merchandising, supply chain) to manage projects.
• A track record of working smoothly with accounting teams to ensure an intimate knowledge of our general ledger as well as well-coordinated reporting processes.
• 8-12 years of financial planning experience, preferably with forecasting ownership at ecommerce/CPG businesses during sustained high-growth periods.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics is preferred.
• Strong presentation and communication skills and ability to distill complex issues into structured models, frameworks, and plans.
• Leadership experience in a Corporate FP&A and/or Strategic Finance function including presenting and providing recommendations to executives.
• Player-coach – able to roll up your sleeves to build models, dashboards, and reports from scratch, but also capable of building and leading direct report(s) in the future.
