The Vice President of Child and Family Well-being leads the planning, development and delivery of Child & Family Well-being programs and services, facilitating the achievement of financial and operational results in accordance with CHS’s strategic direction. With a focus on alignment, the , the VP of Child and Family Well-being ensures CHS impact through financial positioning and the delivery of high performing programs that achieve strong client outcomes. Primary Job Functions
Strategic Planning & Management (10%)
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President in the child and family well-being strategy creation, implementation and performance monitoring of the business line.
- Identify grants and funding sources; partner with Grants Team to prepare federal, state and community grant applications.
- Build and effectively manage internal and external alliances and partnerships to execute business strategy.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with CHS leadership, business line associations, funders and other community partners.
- Participate in development of child and family well-being program contracts and agreements.
- Assess opportunities to grow and enhance child and family well-being services.
- Manage CFW financial affairs to confirm a reinvestment margin by making proposals and presentations and by negotiating to funding sources such as United Way, government agencies foundations and similar other sources, as available and applicable in each region.
- Manage contractor and funder relationships, confirming services meet local community needs.
- Manage adherence to performance and productivity standards, as well as to compliance and quality improvement processes.
- Participate in Operations Leadership Council and related work groups.
- Lead the provision of CFW services, including needs assessment, program development, implementation and monitoring in accordance with CHS’s policies, priorities and COA standards.
- Provide consistency in service delivery in partnership with Executive Directors and program leadership.
- Work in partnership with the Executive Directors and Philanthropy team to create effective plans in support of local programs.
- Comply with DCM requirements, including serving as the single point of contact for client-related EEO/ADA allegations.
- Collaborate with relevant Home Office Support Team members in program support and execution.
- Create statewide program alignment through streamlining practices, policies, process and supports for programming standardization and fidelity.
- Act as single point of contact for EEO and ADA allegations, coordinating prompt investigations, collecting auxiliary aid/service provider data regarding effectiveness and appropriateness of delivery, maintaining records, assisting DCF with operational performance as well as concerns or complaints raised by deaf or hard of hearing clients or companions, and reporting in compliance with ADA/Section 504.
- Develop a strong knowledge base and stay current on business-related issues and trends.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, training and education, as well as the quality process.
- Deliver timely communication through regular management and team meetings.
- Pick up projects on the fly; perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Recruit, supervise and support team members and foster their professional development, including knowledge transfer through training.
- Participate in succession planning to build the bench strength necessary for future talent needs.
- Coach, support and evaluate team member performance, taking corrective action if needed.
- Comply and confirm compliance with CHS code of conduct, policies, practices and other legal obligations.
- Implement policies and practices designed to prevent, recognize and respond to work-related stress.
- Establish annual team goals and objectives; track and report results.
- Demonstrate the CHS Common Bond values in the performance of all job duties.
Job Qualifications
Education, Licenses & Certifications:
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered, pending program/funding requirements.
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Human Services related field (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, etc.) from an accredited university–OR–Non-Human Services related Master’s degree and extensive experience with children and family services and demonstrated management skills, required.
Experience:
- Experience building strong relationships with community-based organizations serving diverse populations of children and families in a variety of settings, required.
- Experience working with boards of directors required.
- Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience, required; 2+ years of experience in child and family well-being, required.
- Experience and demonstrated results in marketing, public relations, and fundraising, strongly preferred
