Vice President Design Jobs

As the VP of Design for Clover, you will join the heart of our business, taking the reins of a dynamic team of Product Designers, Content Designers, Brand Designers, and UX Researchers. You will not just be a leader, but an advocate for Design within the organization, shaping the future of our user experiences.

Reports to: Head of Clover. Serve as a member of the Sr. Leadership Team.

What You Will Do:

• Foster continuous professional development within the team by staying abreast of best practices, skills, and tools.
• Lead, nurture, and scale a robust team of designers and researchers, building an environment conducive to their best work.
• Ensure Design teams are deployed effectively in line with user needs and advocate for additional resources when necessary.
• Collaborate with counterparts in Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to align user needs with business goals and drive the organizational strategy.
• Guide UX Researchers to unearth key customer challenges and utilize these insights to steer design decisions.
• Oversee the entire design process, from discovery to delivery, while aligning design methods and artifacts with the expectations of cross-functional partners.
• Promote consistency, scalability, and standards across all user touchpoints, leading the team to establish design systems, guidelines, and quality metrics.

What You Will Need To Have:

• A decade's leadership in managing design teams, with a history of nurturing talent.
• 15+ years immersed in design, focusing on user experience and interaction design for software and services.
• Stellar storytelling skills, capable of conveying design philosophies to varied levels and functions within the organization.
• 5+ years executive experience, adept at partnering cross-functionally to meet business objectives.
• A rich portfolio of case studies demonstrating your impact, particularly in talent development, team alignment, and meaningful outcome delivery.
• Capacity to comprehend technical complexity and lead teams in crafting pragmatic user experiences within integrated systems.

What Would Be Great To Have:

• Designing products for small-to-medium-sized businesses and/or consumer-facing products.
• Payments industry or similarly complex spaces like government or healthcare.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in design or a related field.
