Overview:

The Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing highly effective leadership in developing and executing human resources plans in support of the strategic direction, mission, and core values of the TDS Telecom. This position contributes to the business strategy by advising the CEO and business leaders on human resources and organizational needs and plans. The Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer serves as a member of the TDS Telecom Executive Team, acts as the TDS Telecom Data Privacy Officer and is the ESG Telecom lead.

Responsibilities:
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all associate programs and practices against the competition and relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
  • Design and execute human resource plans based upon market data, customer feedback, associate feedback, legislation, people analytics and benefit and compensation trends that support the company’s strategic direction, mission, and core values.
  • Work across and collaborate with the Enterprise on enterprise-related human resource topics – seeking ways to assist each other and find commonality where it makes solid business sense.
  • Create and implement strategies to differentiate TDS Telecom as an employer of choice.
  • Lead the development of an effective organizational structure that has effective spans of control and clear accountability.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor/leader to the executive leadership team regarding key people, organizational and leadership issues.
  • Responsible for effectively leading key areas of human resources, to include associate relations; associate engagement; succession planning; talent development and management; performance management; compensation; sales operations; human resource legal compliance; talent acquisition and retention; people analytics; diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging; health, welfare, safety; and recognition.
  • Continuously build, lead, and motivate a strong highly effective Human resource team.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of progressive human resources leadership and management experience.
  • Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
Other Qualifications:
  • Ability to influence/drive change and innovation in human resources practices and across the organization.
  • MBA or MS degree in business, finance or human resources preferred.
  • Solid experience working as part of an executive team, developing leaders and shaping the future of a Company from a human resource perspective.
  • Key involvement in business strategy setting and implementation across corporate services functions; demonstrated experience playing a lead role in major transformation efforts.
  • Ability to proactively plan and execute on efficient and effective human resource project timelines throughout the business cycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to listen, respond effectively/efficiently, coach and mentor.
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying and building leadership talent within larger organizations where support for initiatives must be clearly demonstrated by business outcomes.
  • Strong data driven decision maker.
Benefits
Associates scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week have access to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off benefits such as vacation (15 days accrued per year for full-time; pro-rated for part-time associates working between 20-39 hours), sick leave (10 days accrued per year for full-time and pro-rated for all other associates), seven paid national holidays and one floating holiday, paid parental leave (2 weeks after 12 months of employment), among others. Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability coverage is also available for associates working 30 or more hours per week and Education Assistance is available to full-time associates. Associates scheduled to work under twenty hours per week or for a limited term (i.e. interns) are eligible for medical coverage, the 401(k) plan (if 18 or older), as well as sick leave (10 days accrued per year for full-time and pro-rated for all other associates).
