Ventures Fellowship – Oncology Jobs

Mubadala Capital invests in early-stage biotech companies through our venture capital fund, based in San Francisco. We are biotech specialists with deep operational, entrepreneurial, and investing experience in companies developing the next generation of therapeutics. Some of our investments include Vividion (acquired by Bayer), Orca Bio (Stanford spin-out), insitro (Stanford spin-out), Vevo (UCSF spin-out), EpiBiologics (UCSF spin-out), Recursion Pharma (IPO), and 30+ others.

We are a tight-knit, agile, and passionate team seeking talented scientists with interests in therapeutic translation and the business of biotech to play a critical role in shaping our investment strategy. Fellows will closely collaborate with the investment team, concentrating on the formulation of investment theses, carrying out market analysis, and acquiring broad knowledge across start-up operations, company creation, and other venture capital fund activities. Additionally, fellows will have the chance to participate in thorough due diligence processes and provide valuable support to portfolio companies.

The position will be a paid six-month hybrid remote/office-based fellowship, with a flexible start date between September to October 2023. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US upon hire, without the need for sponsorship.

Qualifications:

• Experience in the life sciences industry or relevant biotech business experience is preferred but not required.
• Current Post-Doc or PhD student, with training in a translational research laboratory and a focus on cancer biology, chemical biology, computational biology, or a related area that has provided a solid scientific foundation.
• Proximity to San Francisco with the ability to commute to the Salesforce Tower (415 Mission St.) at least once per week is strongly preferred
