Position Title: Investment Associate

• Position Summary:

The Associate will conduct sourcing, due diligence and analysis of potential JetBlue Ventures investments and support the leadership team in developing investment recommendations. The Associate will help support the ongoing influx of potential investment opportunities, represent JetBlue Ventures at various events in the travel industry, venture and startup ecosystems, and build a strong network to source potential investments and support portfolio companies. The Associate must be able to work in a fast paced, team environment, and model the JetBlue Ventures values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun. This role is based in our San Francisco office.

• Communicate with senior leaders in potential investment companies
• Work closely with the entire team to facilitate and execute the many tenants of the Portfolio Platform including performing board observer roles, portfolio support and planning, and events
• Develop in-depth assessment of business plans and investment proposals to determine business model viability, industry attractiveness and strategic fit
• Build strong relationships with relevant JetBlue departments
• Support investment committee meetings
• Other duties as assigned
• Develop an independent, value-added perspective on investment discussions
• Conduct investment research, financial analysis and modeling of potential investments
• Develop investment recommendations and supporting documents
• Participate in due diligence process with potential investments
• Represent JetBlue Ventures at venture, industry, and startup events
• Support portfolio companies as assigned
• Essential Responsibilities:
• Build strong relationships within the venture and startup ecosystems to source potential investments

• 3-5 years work experience in VC, PE, Investment Banking, consulting, tech, startup, or related field strongly preferred
• Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
• Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
• Ability to work to deadlines with quick turnaround
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced multi-team environment
• Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
• Masters degree in business, engineering, computer science or related field preferred
• Bachelors degree in business, engineering, computer science or related field required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Available for occasional overnight travel (up to 20%)
• Strong financial modeling skills including the ability to analyze and model company financials
• Relentlessly attentive to detail and displays a strong work ethic

Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Crewleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents

• When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

Equipment: Computer and other office equipment

Physical Effort: Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)
