The Vendor Management Senior Specialist is responsible for administering Mercer’s Vendor Management Program for Mercer’s Public Sector line of business and other business lines in scope to Mercer Vendor Management, assisting in the applicable development and ongoing enforcement of relevant policies and procedures in partnership with Vendor Management leadership.

We will count on you for:
- Where appropriate, conducting interviews with new vendors and inform approved vendors of their responsibilities and obligations.
- Where appropriate, meet with vendors and subcontractors primarily to Mercer’s Public Sector business but also any Mercer business areas in scope of Vendor Management to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing and other critical terms and conditions as defined by Mercer, and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
- Accountable for ensuring compliance with the Vendor Management program throughout the entire vendor life cycle.
- Assist in the development and ongoing enforcement of the Mercer Vendor Management governance model.
- Conduct onboarding of new vendors and services while coordinating all required Mercer and MMC approved requirements for assessing contract language, spend and risk.
- Develop strong business working relationships built on trust, service and contractual obligations.
- Review and analyze contracts for corporate requirements.
- Execution of all activities associated with the integration of new vendors into the operating environment including, but not limited to, the execution of risk and privacy assessments, implementation of contracts and activation of governance and oversight programs.
What you need to have:
- 2+ years of contracts management or other comparable experience with US State and Local Government Contracts
- 4+ years of procurement or vendor management experience including contract language and spend negotiations.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Familiarity and experience with relevant local, state, and federal laws, including federal and state procurement laws, rules, and regulations
- Experience working in and with public sector procurement management principals, government project administration, and procurement processes

- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
- Experience working in Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Teams, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Experience with FAR, DFAR, all government contract types, UCC, commercial contracts, international contract and cradle to grave process.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, negotiation and communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams

The applicable base salary range for this role is $77,000 to $154,100.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
