This 10-month classroom teacher position is located at a residential treatment facility in Austin, TX. Salary will be spread over 12 months. Start date is August 1, 2023

Required Qualifications

Valid EC-6 Core Subjects (with Science of Teaching Reading) and EC-12 Sped Texas teaching certifications. Knowledge of assigned subject or subjects. Understanding of TEKS and the curriculum standards of the State of Texas. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a non-traditional school setting with special needs students of varying abilities and interests. Maintain awareness of individual differences i.e., culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status or other factors and respond in ways that acknowledges the other person's perspective, experiences and voice. Maintain awareness and understanding of the role that trauma may play in the lives of our students. Proficiency in technology and technology applications to the level specified by the district. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. This position requires fingerprinting. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range

$52,500 + depending on qualifications
