ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWe are accepting applications for a High School Science Department Chair & AP Biology Teacher to join the faculty for the 2023-2024 school year. This is a teaching position that includes leadership responsibilities to support the other members of the Science Department. The position is located at our high school on 1001 Commonwealth Ave.
in Brighton.The compensation for Match teaching positions ranges from $61,200-$97,920 and is based on a candidates prior years of teaching experience. The Science Department Chair includes a teacher base salary plus a $15,000 stipend for Department Chair responsibilities. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of health insurance costs and student loan repayment assistance. OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis Science Department Chair & AP Biology position includes a number of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to): -Teach AP Biology classes;-Develop daily lessons aligned with Matchs Science curriculum in collaboration with department colleagues and leadership team members;-Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;-Lead the Science Department by providing coaching and curriculum support to Science teachers -Participate actively in Matchs coaching and professional development programming;-Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time; and-Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School communityQUALIFICATIONS Research has shown that people of color and women are less likely to apply for jobs if they dont believe they meet every one of the qualifications described in a job description.
