Job Description
Purpose and role of job:
Responsible for operating a machine in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
  • Reports food safety problems immediately to supervisor or a QA team member.
  • Takes ownership of plate/ sleeve inventory while maintaining accurate inventory counts and organizing the inventory in a neat & orderly fashion.
  • Participates in Food Safety Activities.
  • Follows necessary GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) to comply with regulations (SQF (Safe Quality Food)).
  • Must be able to change production needs quickly and efficiently with little to no notice.
  • Conducts job in a manner which complies with the food safety program (SQF).
  • Must be able to solve problems and root cause analysis
  • Strong multi-tasking skills are required to succeed within this role.
  • Expectation of a challenging and learning experience and willingness to be taught
  • Performs other duties as necessary
  • Observes all safety rules and always uses the proper safety equipment.
  • Accurately inputs data into the machines.
  • Keeps records of the operation of the machine and troubleshooting that was done.
  • Perform all other duties as required or directed, with or without accommodation
  • Always maintains quality standards for the product.
  • Position requires great focus and attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible in work hours, dependable and committed to First Quality and producing a quality product.
  • Takes actions where appropriate.
  • Demounts plates and sticky back from sleeves
  • Assists maintenance personnel as required, if properly trained.
  • Ensures the proper materials are in place in a timely and orderly fashion
  • Must meet First Quality’s core values and principles
  • Keeps the machine and the surrounding area clean.
  • Assists with the training of other employees if trained to do so.
  • Accurately mounts printing plates
  • Follows necessary GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations/guidelines.
Education and experience requirements:
  • Ability to communicate orally and written.
  • Completes all required training and assessments.
  • Prior computer experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team orientated environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • One to two years manufacturing experience preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Noisy environment requiring hearing protection; manufacturing environment requiring safety shoes and safety glasses. Other PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required based upon specific tasks. Observes all safety rules and always uses the proper safety equipment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift
  • Balance required for some tasks.
  • Occasional climbing of steps.
  • Operation of cranes, hoists, hand trucks and roll manipulators throughout shift.
  • Occasional reaching overhead during shift.
  • Frequent lifting or carrying items/product weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Constant use of hands
  • Walk/stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift.
  • Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
  • Does not mind getting dirty and maintaining 5s housekeeping standards
  • Occasional climbing and reaching
  • Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting throughout shift.
