Job Description
  • Equal Opportunity Employer * The Goddard School located in Pflugerville, TX is looking for experienced Lead Teacher for our Pre-K program. As the Lead Teacher, you are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes. You will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for children in a safe environment and work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service. What We Offer * Competitive pay ($17-22/hour, depending on experience and qualifications) * Sign-on Bonus of $500 after successful completion of 90 days of employment * Extremely affordable health insurance including medical, dental and vision benefits (for as low as $26/paycheck) * Free & well-rounded education for your children - for those that qualify through Texas Workforce's CCS program * Full-time hours (shift hours will be between 8am to 6pm) * Up to 160 hours of Time-Off per year, including paid holidays * Prioritized focus on your professional development - including Child Development Associate (at no cost to you) and support to pursue Associates or Bachelors degrees * Paid training opportunities to meet annual training hours requirement * SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with up to 3% company match Job Requirements * Meets background check eligibility * Prior experience in the role at a licensed childcare center * A currently valid CDA (or actively working towards one) or a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred * Has successfully completed state-required pre-service training * Knowledge of Texas Rising Star (TRS) and/or NAEYC standards is a definite plus * Ability to create age-appropriate lesson plans * Excellent classroom management skills, especially when redirecting behaviors in the classroom * Comfortable using technology and iPad apps for documenting lesson plans and daily activity reports for children * Is dependable, adaptable and enjoys working in teams * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
