We are seeking a dedicated Pre-K Assistant Director to join our team and play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and enriching learning environment for young minds. Your commitment to educational excellence and your leadership skills will contribute to the growth and success of our program.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision:
Provide guidance and support to substitute teachers and classroom staff.
Conduct regular classroom observations and deliver constructive feedback to teaching teams.
Share observation insights with the Director to enhance classroom dynamics.
Participate in Directors' meetings as required by the Early Childhood Department.
Collaborate with the Early Childhood Department and school leaders to evaluate teachers.
Foster one-on-one mentoring sessions with teachers to monitor progress and growth.
Coordinate with ASP Site Coordinators for substitute teacher and TA placement.
Planning
Partner with the Director to develop an annual program growth plan.
Review and offer feedback on teachers' lesson plans to align with Units of Study.
Develop intervention strategies and resources to aid Teachers/TAs.
Resource Management
Ensure teachers adhere to health, safety regulations, and policies.
Oversee and approve classroom and teachers' expenditures.
Partnership Development
Maintain open communication with the Director and staff.
Provide monthly reports and conduct site visits for the Director.
Uphold and BGCA partnership contracts and agreements.
Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities to expand program reach.
Marketing & Public Relations
Collaborate with the Marketing Department and Human Resources to promote job opportunities.
Hiring & Staffing
Assist in conducting interviews and selecting Pre-K Teachers and Teaching Assistant candidates.
Additional Duties
Execute Pre-K classroom lesson plans when required.
Offer guidance to staff in a classroom setting.
Support technology integration and remote teaching assistance.
Step in for staff during substitute teacher shortages.
Skills/ Knowledge
Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Office, Google Drive & Docs, Email).
Strong time management and scheduling skills.
Effective coaching and mentoring abilities.
Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), preferred.
Skillful in presentation, facilitation, and lesson planning.
Strong reporting, observation, and evaluation skills.
Experience in an urban educational setting.
Mandated Reporter Training certification.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (with children and colleagues).
Salary: $ 42,000.00 45,000.00 Per Year
