Underwriter (Workers' Compensation) – Georgia

We are seeking an experienced Production Underwriter to join our team. The person will work from their home office in the state of GA; must have strong technical expertise in workers’ compensation underwriting while enjoying building and maintaining relationships with assigned agencies.

Responsibilities include:

• Follow company guidelines to select new business and retain renewal business.
• Perform external agency marketing activities through regular agency visitation, agency events, and telephone contact.
• Promote and maintain collaborative relationships across departments to manage account activity.
• Manage an assigned agency territory and book of business maintaining profitability and furthering the growth of the state of GA.
• Solicit, underwrite, negotiate, and price business within established authority to create a profitable book of business.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Industry designation(s) a plus.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience underwriting large and/or complex risks.
• Strong sales & marketing skills. Successful track record of developing productive agency relationships.
• Excellent communication skills; able to communicate the company’s message clearly and effectively during agency/client meetings & presentations.
• A minimum of 5 years workers’ compensation underwriting experience in Georgia; multi-state underwriting experience is a plus.
