Job Description

Our opening for a Worker's Compensation Insurance Underwriter I is available now, but it won’t last long! This full-time, exempt position will be a part of the Fantastic Risk - Underwriting to provide a streamlined underwriting process that collaborates with our insurance brokers and other internal departments to coordinate and deliver Engage’s products and services to our Clients. The Workers Compensation Insurance Underwriter I will report directly to the Workers Compensation Insurance Manager.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with underwriting audits and other monitoring activities related to individual accounts or programs.
  • Evaluates new business submissions and all policy documentation to determine hazards and exposures associated with the prospective client and the potential for placement in our insurance programs.
  • The evaluation, selection, acceptance, rejection, pricing, and servicing of commercial insurance policies within accepted company procedures and guidelines. Maintains effective broker relationships and manages profitability in various insurance programs.
  • Ensures all premiums, collateral, and expense are paid for every bound policy.
  • Reviews all submission information to provide recommendations on the proper insurance program placement, obtains quote, and calculates appropriate billing rates for Clients

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient with MS Office and Intermedial Microsoft EXCEL skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a related field
  • Professional Employer Organization (PEO) experience is a plus
  • Multi-state experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience, underwriting experience, or employer risk management experience AND management of workers’ compensation claims
  • CPCU or ARM is preferred but not required

The salary range targeted for this position is listed below. However, you should know that the pay rate may vary based on regional location, the candidate’s skill, and relevant experience. In addition, some positions may include a form of bonus or other incentive compensation, which would not be included in this salary range.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
