Forestry is seeking candidates for the underwriting position to be ideally based in the Sacramento office, but we are open to the candidate being fully remote.

Underwriter – Forestry – (Fully remote)

What can you expect?

• If person has no Forestry Experience learn terminology and basic forestry exposures
• Within the first 30 days meet and engage with the team, start working with the CA retail team, start meeting the key carrier (Everest) contacts and start analyzing the forestry underwriting guidelines, as well as all SOP’s/ internal guidelines.
• To become a productive member of our Forestry Team from an underwriting and operational standpoint
• Within 30-60 days –start working with team/ manager on operational efficiencies.
• Colleague will engage with a seasoned staff of underwriters and ua’s
• You will work and train with program manager, underwriters and ua’s
• Within the first 90 days it will be expected that you travel to SAC office, if not already in the SAC region. If in the SAC region will be expected to visit office 3 days a week.

• To Follow all internal and carrier guidelines
• Provide input/ ideas
• Engage with the team on all internal initiatives
• Ability to run profitable book of Forestry Business
• Underwrite the CA Book of Business as well as possibly other geographic regions

What you need to have:

• Positive Attitude, Willingness to learn
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• 3+ years of commercial prop/casualty underwriting experience

The applicable base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $128,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
