Sr Accountant Staff- Fully Remote- 100%

Position Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation of monthly GAAP-based financial statements for each of the Health System entities and advanced variance analysis of both balance sheet and income statement accounts. Must be proficient at completing and reviewing journal entries, and account reconciliations of others with a high degree of accuracy. Additionally, the Senior Accountant should play a key role in keeping the financial close process on schedule and assist others to achieve that goal. Completes accounts receivable valuation, assists with the budgeting process, and is able to complete various governmental and regulatory surveys. Must be able to research and interpret FASB standards, evaluate and monitor internal controls, and possess the ability to advise the Accounting Manager. The Senior Accountant must have exceptional Excel skills and the ability to design and maintain professional and auditable spreadsheet workbooks. The Senior Accountant must be able to field questions, and advise System Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers. Staff Accountant has access to employee, patient, and financial information and is expected to keep this information confidential. The Senior Accountant to the Manager of Accounting or Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting, based on assigned duties, but is expected to be able to present his/her information to Vice President of System Finance, and is able to act autonomously if necessary.

Required Educational Degree

Bachelor's Degree Major/Area of Concentration: Accounting. Preferred Education: Master's Degree.

Required Experience

5-7 years of Corporate or Public Accounting experience.
