Treasury & Risk Management Analyst

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Treasury and Risk Management Analyst to join the Treasury team at Scholastic. This newly created position will have dual responsibility in supporting Cash Management and other Treasury related functions at Scholastic while assisting the Risk Manager in all aspects of the company’s corporate Insurance programs.

The Analyst will have shared responsibility for the daily processing of the company’s global cash and transaction activity and will work closely with the treasury team on payment processing, bank account maintenance, treasury documentation, audit and compliance reporting, and other ad-hoc financial projects as needed. The Treasury and RM Analyst will assist in risk management and insurance related processes including compiling data, claims related activity and corporate risk identification. The individual will collaborate with Accounting, AP/AR, FP&A, Scholastic’s international business units, and third-party service providers as needed.

The position is partially remote and the candidate will be required to report 2-3 days per week to either Scholastic’s corporate headquarters in New York City or our office in Newark, NJ.

Required Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. or similar in finance or accounting with 3-5 years of related experience.

The ideal candidate will have prior accounting, treasury-related or risk management experience in a large multi-national company and will have a moderate background in banking/insurance products and cash management services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Microsoft Excel and will also have experience in processing payments and reporting in internet-based bank cash management systems and have a working knowledge of Oracle.

The Treasury and Risk Management Analyst will have the highest ethical standards and personal integrity and will combine exceptional analytical skills with solid business judgment. A high level of organization with excellent time management skills is required. The individual must have great attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage responsibilities among competing priorities. The individual will also have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting with and explaining treasury and insurance concepts related to their responsibilities with both financial and non-financial audiences alike.
