Transportation Supervisor Jobs

The Transportation Supervisor is responsible to supervise drivers and equipment, dispatch retail store deliveries, and ensure driver compliance with state and federal DOT regulations. Will also be responsible for assisting with required records, reports, and control systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, lead, and direct activities on the shift and give appropriate feedback to 25 to 325 associates. Conduct employee evaluations. Deliver training to drivers on new systems and procedures as necessary. Keep abreast of collective bargaining agreements and Company rules regarding the Trucking Department.
• Provide necessary support to ensure warehouse and transportation schedules are attained.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Remain current on Federal and State laws and regulations regarding the Trucking Department. Ensure all employees and equipment are in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Optimize the utilization /routing of equipment and staffing in a dynamic environment. Dispatch work on a shift basis. direct Drivers in movement of product and equipment to and from stores.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of DOT laws desired.
• Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelors Degree in Logistics preferred; or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• 3-5 years supervisory experience
• 3-5 years experience in the trucking industry
• Excellent organization skills and logical thinking
