Transportation Specialist (Router) Jobs

2 Positions:

JOB SUMMARY: Utilizes applicable routing software to efficiently route school buses within the Clayton County Public Schools system to ensure established goals of timeliness, cost containment, and customer services are met. Routes trips in accordance with established policies and all applicable regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Manager of Transportation. Prior Routing Experience Preferred

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops daily route assignments based on scheduling and school requirements utilizing company software for route standardization. Assigns transportation eligibility codes and bus stops for students. Monitors actual ridership and adjusts routes when necessary for efficient and safe bus route. Plots maps as needed. Analyzes routes, runs data, rebuilds, and updates programs as needed. Works with staff to maintain walk and hazard zones, school attendance boundaries, street speed and direction and hazard status; recommends bus run, bus route changes and provides route training. Coordinates, manages, and schedules Dept. of Extra Curricular program field trips, after school, athletic programs, etc. Cross trains and assists dispatchers with dispatching and monitoring of radios. Responds to accidents as necessary, verifies time sheets and attendance records. Provides exceptional customer services to parents, staff and stakeholders. Provides administrative support (filing, recordkeeping, answering phones, etc.) as needed. All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,811.00 - $68,283.00 per year
