Summary

The Logistics Transportation Manager is responsible for planning and supervising shipments, scheduling routes, tracking orders and ensuring proper storage and distribution of products. The Logistics Transportation Manager will also monitor transportation costs, maintain records, and ensure compliance with shipping regulations. Some of the main duties include reviewing budgets, processing shipments and building delivery routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for oversight of Third party Freight payment services and service levels
• Responsible for transportation spend of at least $ 5 million annually
• Negotiate, maintain rates, contracts, agreements etc.
• Primary liaison to all transportation providers, vendors and third parties
• Manage Third Party TMS vendor and outputs
• Work on transportation projects and analysis as needed
• Report order service levels within each WFC Business Units
• Manage and report on Budget performance as well as provide key inputs in budget process steps
• Interact with customers(internal and external) as it relates to Customer service issues with WFC vendors
• Work closely to align services with 3pl Warehouse network and needs
• Provide input/ ownership of Transportation spend and budget process
• Work closely with Purchasing to analyze inbound freight costs and allocations

Qualifications

• Management or supervisory experience
• Temp control experience / retail experience ideal
• Project Management experience helpful
• Knowledge and experience with many modes, including LTL, TL, Temp control (preferred) small parcel, Third Party Logistics & Final mile carriers
• Cross Knowledge of various other Supply Chain areas beneficial
• 5-7 years of experience in a Transportation role
• Consumer Packaging or food & beverage background helpful
• ERP (SAP/ Oracle) experience helpful.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• High School Diploma
