- Monitor and evaluate instructional delivery performance to ensure the presentation of WUI programs meet the quality and educational standards of the National Fire Academy.
- Responsible for program implementation, development, management and instruction of all activities surrounding the U.S Fire Administration/National Fire Academy training initiatives in WUI curriculum areas.
- Responsible for all WUI curriculum courses and curricula implementation of all activities.
- Execution of curricula management responsibility for the WUI area, evaluating both internal organizational policies and policies from other Federal agencies to determine the impact on the program and courses.
- Selective Service registration required.

- Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
- Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
- Supervising or administering a training program.
- Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
- Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
- Conducting wildfire or wildland risk assessments that identify solutions to mitigate risks in a Wildland Urban Interface environment.
- Developing risk assessments and evacuation plans or strategy documents that identify solutions to mitigate risks in a Wildland Urban Interface at an operational (such as; fire chief, operations crew/team leader) or supervisory level; and
- Experience in Code development or implementation as related to Wildland Urban Interface land use within a community, state or municipality.
