Job Description
Join us as our Training & Development Coach and help support the Road Runner Sports Training & Development team! The T&D Coach will be essential in coordinating, conducting, and tracking participation and results for training programs for Road Runner Sports Team Members. You’ll also create training content, training materials, eLearning courses, videos, and job aids. You’ll play an active role in all aspects of Training & Development programs, and work closely with various departments across Road Runner Sports to ensure consistency of all training materials and content. You’ll be expected to deliver accurate, high-quality documentation within specific deadlines, working with web-based development & delivery tools. You’ll apply adult learning principles within the delivery of training and the development of materials. You’re expected to exercise independent discretion and judgment performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.


What you'll get to do


  • You apply your knowledge of training & learning theories and principles to help build online and instructor-led learning programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • You develop creative and engaging training materials for an adult audience, in a variety of formats and media as well as storyboarding and user guides.
  • You manage multiple program development projects simultaneously by prioritizing project deadlines and you track program development plans, ensuring that any challenges and/or changes in delivery dates are addressed, escalated when needed, and resolved.
  • You create new hire training content, ongoing training content, and support Team Member retention.
  • You develop program content to be implemented by the Training & Development Team and/or Managers and RRS Team Members.
  • You’re responsible for coordinating & conducting Instructor-Led New Hire and Ongoing Training (both virtually and in-person, as needed)
  • You shadow Team Members for the purposes of evaluating training results and identifying training opportunities.
  • You work collaboratively across functional areas to manage and coordinate new program launches.
  • You partner with other members of the Training & Development Team to evaluate and update existing courses.

B College degree; plus two years related experience; or a minimum of 4 years total of education and/or experience.


  • Ability to create presentations and lesson plans that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talks or hear.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar charts, analyze data and develop appropriate business strategies and plans based on analyses.
  • Ability to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, mathematical, or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience with e-learning software a plus.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • College degree plus two years related experience; or a minimum of 4 years total of education and/or experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills and ability to use other Microsoft software applications. Demonstrated proficiency in relevant company-specific computer systems (within 30 days of employment).
  • The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to effectively present information to new hires, sales and customer service personnel and management.
  • The Team Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to foster and maintain an atmosphere of open and positive communication and work effectively with all levels of Team Members, including executive management.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
