RESTORE Training Coordinator Monroe County

In support of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY)’s mission, theRESTORE Training Coordinatorwill work with the Outreach & Education Manager to develop, evaluate, and implement community education and training curricula in accordance with the policies and goals of the Agency. This position is based in Rochester and requires travel to all five counties.


Essential Functions


  • 5% Attends and/or facilitates Train the Trainer programs for RESTORE, PPCWNY education staff, coalition members, and other professionals
  • 50% Markets and promotes Region 6 Education and Curricula to Monroe County Schools; facilitate scheduled programs
  • 15% Markets RESTORE regional education programs and informational services in coordination with PPCWNY’s Marketing and Communications Department to community partners, agencies, teachers, students, and parents by developing and maintaining community contacts via phone, mail, media, networking, etc.
  • 5% Assists the Outreach and Education Manager with the development, review, selection, ordering, and evaluation of resource materials which enhance education programming
  • 10% Helps identify, design, and evaluate desired programs, outcomes, and data for sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking education curricula
  • 15% Develops and facilitates programs and opportunities for RESTORE’s Monroe County Education-based grants


Accountability Activities


  • Attends educational and training seminars relevant to job responsibilities
  • Provides accurate documentation of all services provided and take responsibility to report these as required on a monthly and quarterly basis to major funding sources
  • Helps plan and facilitate staff development and training for PPCWNY staff when appropriate
  • Assists in the training of newly hired PPCWNY RESTORE staff and volunteers
  • Shows respect to all internal and external customers for differences in backgrounds, lifestyles, viewpoints and needs in areas such as race, gender, ethnicity, creed, sexual orientation and others
  • Represents PPCWNY in a professional manner within appropriate forums, coalitions, etc., and use those opportunities to increase participation in PPCWNY programs and to further agency goals
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department
  • Must sign up for On Call shifts at a minimum of two shifts per month including one weeknight and one weekend 24-hour shift on a rotating basis with all staff, including holidays, providing coverage to all Counties RESTORE serves including: Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming

Qualifications


Applicants must possess the following qualifications(or equivalent combination of education and experience):


Education—


  • Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services, Social Work, Health Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field


Experience—


  • Three years’ paid work in human services and/or two years, paid work providing sexual assault, domestic violence, or crisis services required


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities—


  • Self-motivated with the ability to set goals and create timelines for implementation; excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records
  • A commitment to Planned Parenthood of Central and Western NY (PPCWNY)’s mission, vision, and values along with a commitment to providing services to a diverse range of clients and to the goals of PPCWNY is essential
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license not in jeopardy of being revoked; ability to respond to emergency calls within thirty minutes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking dynamics and effects, public awareness, and crisis intervention services
  • Planned Parenthood seeks candidates who have experience delivering care in ways that honor and respect LGBTQ communities
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills; strong public speaking presentation skills
  • Planned Parenthood seeks candidates who are proficient in two or more languages
  • Must successfully complete the sexual assault advocacy program training during the first two months of onboarding
  • General PC skills needed (MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


Work Schedule This is a full-time position; regular schedule will be 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend duties, as well as on call responsibilities.


CompensationMinimum starting rate for this position is $22.92/hour.
