Job Description
Crisis Intervention Service promotes a society free from violence and oppression through social change, effective community partnerships and awareness.


The mission of Crisis Intervention Service is to provide persons affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and homicide with professional, confidential, 24-hour services including safety and support and to prevent violence in our communities through education.


Crisis Intervention Service is expanding and hiring a full-time Training Coordinator. This position will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering training for the agency as well as statewide support for Survivors of Homicide/Other Violent Crime programs.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Create informational materials including training descriptions, training calendars, and email notices.
  • Stay up-to-date on and implements principles and methods related to best practices in instructional design and adult learning. Evaluates tools and platforms for training delivery.
  • Drawing upon best practices in educational principles and adult learning theory, work with internal and external subject matter experts and trainers to ensure trainings maximize value for participants.
  • Work with agency staff to identify training and technical assistance needs.

  • Solid skills and experience with using advanced technology in training or teaching, including e-learning technology and technology that enhances the delivery of in-person training.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and be an effective and creative problem-solver.
  • Extensive knowledge of current best practices in instructional design and adult education.
  • Strong event planning and coordination skills.
  • Strong and effective teaching and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with numerous individuals across the organization and externally.
  • Ability to work with diverse staff and audiences with different ability levels and learning styles.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, volunteers, and the community.
  • Unimpeachable integrity and personal ethics.
  • Able to work independently and on teams.


Experience/Requirement


  • Proof of applicable automobile insurance.
  • Experience with staff development and/or program evaluation and outcomes management.
  • Three years of experience in staff development, program delivery, organization management and/or supervision.
  • Valid Iowa Drivers License.

Salary: From \$34,000.00 per year
