POSITION OVERVIEW
As a member of the Institutional Giving team, the Temporary Grant Writer is charged with ensuring a consistent output of renewal and new funding requests, creating materials for proposals, and working to develop language for strategic program initiatives. Additionally, the Writer will coordinate the review of proposals and reports to ensure guidelines are met.
Working closely under the Director, Institutional Giving, the Grant Writer will seek mission and values-aligned foundation and government funding sources who believe in Sundance Institute’s commitment to the discovery and development of independent artists and audiences, and support our work through financial contributions and otherwise.
This temporary position works part-time (30 hours a week) from Monday, August 21, 2023 through Friday, December 1, 2023 and may be asked to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs. This is a fully remote position that does not require any onsite work duties.
Top priorities include but are not limited to…
- Working closely with the Finance Department to ensure all requirements for application budget materials and financial reporting are met.
- Collaborating with relationship managers as well as key program and operational employees to develop a language for new strategic initiatives, update program descriptions, and develop donor stewardship communications.
- Crafting compelling, clear, and accurate written materials for grant proposals and reports, in keeping with funder guidelines and deadlines.
- Uploading and submitting proposals and reports to funders’ online grantee portals as applicable.
- Coordinating internal review of proposal and report materials, and incorporating feedback in a timely manner.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people.
- Strong writing skills with an ability to write compelling text that accurately outlines the importance of Sundance Institute’s mission.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- 2 years experience crafting grant proposals and reports, or related.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
