Job Purpose:
This position will provide architectural and development oversight to leverage desktop virtualization as an accelerator to bring solutions to our business simplifying our factory floor footprint and improving the workstation options for our engineering communities. The primary solution is the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) platform. Knowledge and level 4 support of Citrix virtual applications and desktops are also included in the span of control of this position.
- Knowledge of Endpoint Configuration Management tools such as SCCM and Intune (including Group Policy configuration and Windows Active Directory updates for Virtual Desktops).
- Provide expert leadership including developing concepts and architecture for the Virtual Desktop Environments based on operational issues, customer needs, customer impacts, and/or industry trends; and supports the introduction of new technology.
- Knowledge of secure remote access risk domain design and modern authentication methods
- Use of DevOps, CICD Pipelines, Runbooks, and ARM templates in support of AVD service expansions, deployments, and lifecycle management.
- Timely resolution of incidents, provide after-hours on-call support for escalated incidents.
- Writing, updating, executing PowerShell scripts for AVD deployment, management, and reporting.
- Engagement with application owners across the enterprise for applications upgrade planning and implementation in AVD.
- Vulnerability remediation in Windows 10 for Virtual Desktops environment.
- Design and implement processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.
Basic Qualifications:
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of IT software license compliance best practices and tools
- Azure Virtual Desktop experience
- PowerShell Scripting experience
- Five to Seven years of progressively responsible IT job-related experiences focused on Virtual Desktop Technologies
- Experience with incident and change management processes
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
- Understands provisioning, patching, packaging, and deployment tools
- Ability to investigate, research, troubleshoot, and present technology findings
- Managing and executing application migrations from Citrix to Azure.
- Understanding of Windows Group Policies and Windows Active Directory
- Citrix Virtual apps and desktops experience
- Endpoint Configuration Management tools such as SCCM and Intune
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, able to work on complex application/technical problem resolution
- Understands basic network connectivity, DNS, DHCP
- Demonstrated ability to perform testing and customer acceptance testing of system component updates that require careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. In addition, assist customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.
- Understands storage technologies such as NAS shares and disk imaging
- Team player experience requiring minimal supervision, with ability to draw on the expertise and knowledge of the team to deliver the best solutions. Serve as a team member and/or subject matter expert on one or more projects
- DevOps and Agile workflow experience
