Technical Product Manager, Web

Building machine learning (ML) models at scale is extremely difficult, time-consuming, and expensive. At Determined AI, we are working to change that: our revolutionary open source platform enables ML engineers to train better models in less time, to seamlessly share GPU clusters, and to collaborate more effectively. We allow ML engineers to spend their time doing ML, rather than managing infrastructure or writing boilerplate code.

About This Role

We are seeking a Product Manager to join our Web team and drive the vision, evolution, and development of the web user interface for our end to end machine learning platform. As the Product Manager for the Web team you will work with cross functional product teams, open source users, and HPE customers to understand user needs, prioritize, and define new features to deliver a best in class workflow for machine learning model developers who use Determined. This role presents an exciting challenge to create brand new experiences and workflows that will shape the future of how groundbreaking AI projects get developed and delivered.

You will be working with a distributed remote team in a remote first culture with in person offices available in select locations.

What You'll Do

• Work closely with Determined’s customers, community users, and internal experts to identify challenges and opportunities for improving the model development workflow
• Contribute to the design of new product features
• May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
• Advise key stakeholders on the portfolio strategy across all phases of the lifecycle (e.g., planning, development, launch, management, exit)
• Write product feature specifications to handoff to engineering for execution
• Frequently represent the organization to external customers/clients.
• Gather requirements, conduct market research, and formulate user stories for new product features
• Work closely with product design and engineering to develop mockups and prototypes for user testing,
• Ability to act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
• Lead, contribute, and drive the end to end strategy and operational product roadmap for one or more products.

What We're Looking For

• Ability to cross functionally drive/influence work through others, ability to mentor and lead teams to achieve results for complex, ambiguous projects.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or related field of study. MBA or advanced degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• 5+ years Product Management experience in related field (machine learning, web applications, developer tools preferred)
• Highly innovative and excited to invent novel products for an emerging market
• Technical understanding and knowledge of APIs, system architecture, design systems, and other relevant modern web technologies.
• Ability to simplify complex problems into achievable milestones delivering user value frequently
• Familiarity with machine learning model development is preferred but not required.

If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. Annual Salary: $109,400.00 - $251,500.00
