Product Definition & Value
- Identify opportunities to improve feature performance and overall product health using data
- Manage product planning through day to day collaboration and decision making with a cross-functional team including engineers and business partners
- Align with business partners to balance business and technical objectives and manifest these as clear, stable priorities for the team
- Define non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, resilience, usability, accessibility, security, and business continuity
- Be responsible for determining business needs, understanding market demands and technical trends, problem solving and proposing solutions
- Define product health and performance metrics
- Create dashboard/reporting requirements and KPIs to measure product performance
- Measure feature success post deployment and feeds insights back to the team and business partners
- Own effective relationships with engineering teams across Starbucks Technology
- Interact directly with business stakeholders to understand business problems
- Present options/recommendations clearly and persuasively to support business stakeholder decisions
- Work with engineering teams to understand, prioritize and document technical and non-functional features
- Work with cross-functional teams on feature sizing and delivery planning
- Effectively communicate product delivery milestones and progress
- Perform validation of feature against stated goals; facilitates user review/acceptance testing
- Manage execution and eliminate blocking issues during development
- Practice iterative, agile development
- Identify and document technical tradeoffs as well as dependencies and constraints
- Industry experience in a technology environment with a record of successfully delivering complex products (4+ years)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or relevant field
- Demonstrated ability to work with design and engineering to deliver customer facing features (4 years)
- Hands on experience in developing roadmaps, priorities, features, story outlines, writing user stories, refining product backlogs, and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, changing environment with variety of stakeholders (4 years)
- Demonstrated ability to use analytics and optimization tools to inform product planning and prioritization (4 years)
- Technical knowledge in web and mobile applications
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Amazon Connect experience (2 years)
- Ability to apply knowledge of business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
- Knowledgeable of agile/scrum methodology and user centric design; may be certified product owner; may collaborate with PMO/scrum master on project methodology to highlight issues and help as needed for product lifecycle
- Ability to analyze data to justify product decisions and apply key learnings
- Consistent use of communications skills to influence outcomes within a known skill set
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong knowledge of agile development practices, methodologies, and tools
