Our client, Ficep Corporation, is seeking a Technical & Operations Director preferably based in Charlotte, NC. The role calls for a dynamic leader with an engineering or technical background and experience working with capital equipment, specifically with CNC machinery and ideally for steel fabrication.
The Technical & Operations Director will serve as the right hand of the CEO and will oversee the US based technical team collaborating closely with the mother company team, located Italy.
To be successful in this exciting and challenging role you are hands-on, strategic, charismatic, driven, and self-motivated. It is important to have solid interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization. You have prior managerial experience leading technical teams.
You are analytical but able to think outside of the box and make quick decisions. You have a strong desire to provide a high level of customer service. You must be able to travel from and to the Baltimore HQ office.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and directly manage the Technical department as a cohesive, high performing team.
• Lead, support, and closely work with the Field Service Manager.
• Take overall ownership of specific projects as designated and assigned, with the aim of ensuring a project’s successful, timely and cost-effective conclusion.
• Communicate technically and manage the details of multiple projects.
• Work with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical and software) to come up with innovative solutions.
• Assist & support the CEO with the management of daily operations.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
• Bachelor’s in Engineering or the equivalent technical professional experience or certification in the field.
• 10+ years of engineering/technical experience and 5 years in a managerial role.
• CNC capital equipment industry background.
• Knowledge of installation and commissioning.
• Knowledge and experience with the financials aspects of projects.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify root causes and to define corrective action plans.
• Ability to interact with customers at any level.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing and growing environment. This includes the ability to learn new software, tools, and technologies to solve challenging problems.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
• Monthly travels from and to Baltimore is expected mainly during the first years of employment.
Salary Range: $110K-$150K
