LAC Tax Director –
Reporting to the Vice President of Tax – LAC, this position will perform a variety of functions with a particular focus on supporting our operation from a tax perspective in Latin America and the Caribbean. Responsibilities will include providing tax support to the regions Executive / Business Leadership and the different teams in the markets on new business initiatives, business restructurings, international tax aspects of the U.S. tax provision, tax legislative updates, local tax compliance support, managing of tax audits and controversy and support the growth and development of more junior members of the team.
Responsabilities:
- Provide tax support to VISAs operations in Latin America and the Caribbean and some other regional projects as required.
- Support internal control and maintain SOX documentation and processes related to international taxation.
- Ability to operate independently in a detail oriented and hands-on environment.
- Sound technical knowledge and practical experience dealing with Latin American (including Brazil) and U.S. international tax issues for multinational corporations.
- Assist with region's U.S. quarterly and annual tax provisions focusing on specific markets, including the analysis of uncertain tax positions and potential valuation allowance requirements.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills with ability to research tax law and apply relevant tax law to fact patterns
- Provide support in managing tax audits in LAC, which includes working with external tax advisors to review tax notices & inquiries received from local tax authorities and preparing the appropriate response to said notices and inquiries
- Coordinate the preparation, review and filing of the direct tax and indirect tax compliance obligations in all markets of the region (preparation is outsourced).
- Provide support to regional and local tax planning initiatives (development and implementation).
- Assist with maintaining and reviewing the region's transfer pricing policies and calculations as determined by the transfer pricing team, including overseeing, and supporting the preparation of transfer pricing studies and updates. Basic understanding of transfer pricing rules is required.
- Ad hoc tax projects as required or as needed.
- Be able to communicate tax issues clearly and interact effectively with senior executives in the region and global teams through various areas of the Company.
- Team oriented, self-motivated, and willing to take ownership of projects with strong project management skills
- Support the growth and development of more junior members of the team.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50 percent of the time based on business needs.
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance, CPA, JD and or Masters in Taxation preferred.
- At least 12plus years with a combination of major public accounting firm and multinational corporation in high tech industry, with a minimum of 6 years international taxation experience.
- English / Spanish is a requirement. Portuguese is a plus.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 122,300.00 to 159,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
