Systems Engineer I
6 months (Possible Extension 6 months)
Mon to Fri 8am-4pm with 30-minute lunch break

Description:
Experience: 1 - 3 years. Position responsibilities include an active role in system level design, requirements, customer support, and test support for a variety of system engineering projects. In this position the Systems Engineer makes changes to or upgrades existing systems designs, enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions, performs root cause analysis to identify system design issues and provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex problems. Specific knowledge/skills include system level knowledge of video technologies and standards including MPEG, Open Cable, etc. Networking technologies include TCP/IP and Ethernet. System engineering and requirements management tools and techniques. Strong writing, presentation and other communication skills.
Training: Training takes roughly 2 weeks of basic training, after basic training resource will train 1-2 months of continuous learning
Interview Information: 30 minute onsite interview with hiring manager
What’s your department’s function within the company? System integration
What are the main responsibilities that your new hire will have? Programming various network equipment, staging systems
What are the top three contributions this new hire will make to the company within their first 90 or 120 days? The new hire will be able to program various equipment, stage and ship systems, provide support to other engineers
What qualifications are must-haves for candidates? (e.g. X technical skills, experience with Y projects, Z certification or license) Networking experience of 1-3 years, TCP/IP knowledge.
What would be some nice-to-have skills for candidates and why? (e.g. experience in retail, familiarity with X programming language) VMWARE or virtual machine skill, UNIX/LInux skills. Network certifications are a plus (COMPTIA +, A +)
Is it necessary for candidates to have industry experience for this role? Why or why not? Not necessary but would be nice. If they have industry experience, the curve of learning will be smaller.
What software should your new hire be proficient in? Windows 10/11, Microsoft office/Google Doc, Putty
