Job Description

At Raines Feldman LLP, the System Administrator Is responsible for maintaining the networks and systems that keep our organization running. From maintaining ironclad security to supervising network updates and training users, the administrator is not only IT support but also the thread that connects all operations. Deep technological expertise with a wide range of computer systems, hardware, and software is essential for the network administrator to excel in this role and help drive our organization forward.



Objectives

  • Assist in server infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor disaster procedures and recovery
  • Maintain stable and consistent connectivity across all network computers
  • Provide server and network support across organizational operating systems



Responsibilities

  • Consistently monitor and troubleshoot network and server stability and performance
  • Provide expert Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure support (AD, DHCP, DNS, File, Print, RDS, etc)
  • Perform risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures
  • Write technical support documentation for network systems and applications
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Focus on the maintenance of a stable environment, enterprise-wide, by monitoring and analyzing problems, ensuring they are identified and solved as rapidly and efficiently as possible Build specified software deployment packages such as operating systems, word processing, or other programs, and verifies correct system operations
  • Create, adjust, and maintain network user settings and permissions
  • Recommend, test, and implement system and security upgrades
  • Evaluate new software and hardware required to meet business needs or to facilitate more cost-effective business processes.
  • Maintain cloud environment, including servers and associated hardware, software, services, and settings
  • Modify security files and applications as able and necessary to provide specialized access, allow new software to be installed or integrated, or correct errors
  • Provide expert Microsoft 365 and Azure Administration and infrastructure support (AAD, Exchange Online, License Management, Remote Management, Intune and Autopilot, etc)
  • Provide Help Desk support and also Support IT staff with triage and issue remediation.
  • Collaborate with users to discuss computer data access needs, to identify security threats and violations, and to identify and recommend needed programming or process changes
  • Develop and implement plans to safeguard digital data from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure; adheres to emergency data processing needs



Technical skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related field
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting
  • Ability to break down complex technical subject matter so that it can be easily understood by non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and environments.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong coordination and team leadership skills
  • Experience with leading server management and monitoring tools
  • Proven skills in system engineering, operations, and performance analysis
  • Experience in Cloud environments, specifically Azure
  • Three or more years of experience in a system administration role
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with systems thinking concepts
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs
  • Open mind and enthusiasm to learn new technologies, systems, procedures and processes
  • Expert independent troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as a member of cross-functional teams'
