Job Description
Our innovative, entrepreneurial, high-performing team is seeking a Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy responsible for for shaping the forward-looking strategy of the firm at the enterprise level, ensuring that this vision is translated from strategy to execution and driving the firm’s innovation. As a highly visible role in the organization, the most qualified candidate will have demonstrated experience successfully pairing strong business strategy and analytics skills with extraordinary relationship and presentation skills.


We are seeking an established leader who can demonstrate a a comprehensive understanding of the financial services industry and is prepared to articulate and support a perspective on how this industry may evolve and can ask the questions that help the firm position itself for a successful future.


This role requires an individual who possesses the ability to deliver results through a combination of individual analytical and strategic contributions and by developing and leveraging a diverse team. To achieve ultimate success in this role, the SVP must build broad coalitions across the firm and seek to constantly push the firm to evaluate its assumptions, the environment in which it competes, and how it must adapt to be successful.


Responsibilities:


  • Frame, simplify and communicate the most complex strategic challenges facing the firm and empower the firm's leadership to make decisions at the Management Committee, C-suite and board level.
  • Drive the execution of strategy through the creation of roadmaps for investment.
  • Guide the analysis of internal and external data to bolster the strategic point of view.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior leaders to ensure that strategies are market-backed and guided by client needs.
  • Manage and nurture team to create leading strategy talent.
  • Drive the development of the 3-, 5- and 10-year corporate strategy, including periodic and annual formal reviews.
  • Translate the company’s strategy into an execution framework and “top of the house” Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).
  • Explore trends that impact advisors and investors - anticipate how they may change our industry and how we prepare to meet these changes.
  • Develop detailed strategic options in response to identified growth opportunities, industry disruptions, competitor intelligence and/or organizational goals.
  • Establish a collaborative environment at all levels of the organization that creates better input into the strategy development process, and better alignment by communicating strategic decisions and outcomes.
  • Take a client-centric approach to identifying and evaluating strategic opportunities.
  • Empower and develop a team of strategists that turns industry, competitive, and trend intelligence into tangible value for the organization.
  • Contribute to firmwide strategy around M&A, partnerships, and strategic investments.


Requirements:


  • A strong understanding of the independent wealth management industry, with a high level of proficiency in the RIA and independent broker-dealer marketplaces.
  • Desire to be part of an entrepreneurial team and an ability to succeed within a dynamic, fastpaced environment, grounded in tangible results.
  • A highly strategic thinker, with the ability to assess complex problems, prioritize key issues, focus on relevant facts and maintain a strong execution focus.
  • Superior analytical skills with an ability to identify relevant data, evaluate business opportunities within the context of a larger organization and present findings in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams and business leaders to manage, execute and implement strategies that you designed.
  • Proven experience managing, leading and motivating teams. The ideal candidate will have experience developing emerging leaders and transferring personal expertise to the team to create leverage in highly specialized areas.
  • Strong gravitas and executive presence with strong oral, written and listening skills with an ability to adapt to different audiences, including senior internal leadership and influential external stakeholders.
  • A strong background in strategy, management consulting, and/or corporate innovation, with expertise in the financial services industry a plus.
  • Awareness and insights of industry dynamics, including traditional financial services firms and fintech players.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as needed.


Pay Range:


$203,720-$305,580/year


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
