Supply Chain Management Intern

Chera is a food as medicine startup dedicated to eating disorder recovery. Our mission is to enable faster eating disorder recovery sustained by regular eating habits. We provide a comprehensive, personalized meal support system as the foundation for building those eating habits. As a startup, we are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, passionate, and hungry to learn. As an intern at a growing startup, you will have the opportunity to witness all the inner workings of a food / mental health / technology company.

We are seeking talented and ambitious supply chain management intern to join our startup team. As supply chain management intern, you will work closely with our chief executive officer and chief culinary officer to develop processes to oversee inventory / procurement management, logistics, and operational strategy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee stocking levels to maintain business readiness - document key deadlines for purchasing orders and help automate purchasing process
• Forecast demand in order to predict future supply needs
• Help develop and execute inventory management strategy, including identifying inventory management tools
• Assist in procurement management - consolidate / optimize ingredient and packaging suppliers to identify potential cost savings / efficiency gains
• Identify order management tools and help implement / integrate them with demand forecasts and procurement processes

Qualifications

• General business acumen
• Supply chain management educational background, or comparable experience
• Self-starter with excellent problem solving skills
• Knowledge of supply chain fundamentals including a working knowledge of procurement, logistics, and operations
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Familiarity with economic order quantity and best practices in supply chain management

Logistics

• Fully remote
• Internship base pay is 16.25 / hour with an expected 40 hours per week (although this is negotiable for the right talent), with payment being delayed until likely August / September and conditional on successful fundraising
• Internship will span ~6/3 - 8/12
