Position Summary: The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of nursing staff and the overall operation of the nursing facility. This individual will be supervising the nursing staff and ensuring that the needs of the residents are being met in a positive and effective manner. This position requires a high level of independence, as well as strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

The supervisor is a responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager or Director in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit. It is expected that the supervisor manages and coordinates the unit, directs and supervises caregivers, functions and activities, interprets policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate. Scope of responsibility spans all aspects of nursing care.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in nursing

Supervisors employed who have not obtained a bachelor’s degree in nursing are required to obtain BSN within 3 years .

California Registered Nurse License upon hire

National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire

ANCC recognized specialty certification (or within 1 year of hire) upon hire.

1-year recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital in specialty area

1 year Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in nursing

Shared Governance experience
