Job Description
Essential Functions And Responsibilities


  • Maintains professional appearance for position and serves as a role model, leader and mentor to the campus community.
  • Evaluates insurance and liability issues related to clinical sites, and provides appropriate documentation.
  • Attends Advisory meetings to network and derive solutions to mutual concerns.
  • Identifies key clinical affiliate staff to be utilized as role models/mentors.
  • Ensures clinical faculty provides periodic feedback of clinical performance under the direction of the Director of Nursing immediately after observation event and/or of overall student performance at mid-term and end of semester.
  • Apprises clinical affiliate staff of student objectives in each clinical area.
  • Maintains accurate clinical site information database, including contact information and specific contractual agreement termination and expiration dates, and initiates renewal process timely.
  • Validates with clinical affiliate staff the effectiveness of student placement and progress in meeting mutually established objectives.
  • Participates in professional development and organizations in order to maintain an understanding of current ideas and best practices, attends meetings, workshops and seminars to enrich personal growth, knowledge and skill in management development.
  • Makes phone calls, on site visits, conflict mediation, sharing specific course and program learning objectives, record attendance, and facilitating clinical affiliations to ensure experiences are adequate and achieve a satisfactory level of performance.
  • Identifies clinical sites which support the student clinical requirements.
  • Ensures clinical faculty utilizes care planning time to direct students to available resources needed for clinical preparation.
  • Advises the Director of Nursing of the general effectiveness of the clinical education portion of the program.
  • Plans, coordinates, and manages faculty and students assigned to clinical facilities.
  • Works with clinical affiliate staff to clarify policies and procedures specific to facility.
  • Conducts required clinical site onboarding and training for department staff; improves retention and morale and performance efficiencies related to clinical site experiences.
  • Adheres to College/University policies and procedures and conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the College/University’s Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards
  • Establishes and maintains communication lines between the clinical facilities and staff and ACC.
  • Maintains contracts between ACC and quality clinical sites, including obtaining renewal signatures, explaining unique requirements of a clinical site, and terminating contracts with clinic sites unable to provide appropriate clinical education.
  • Develops and maintains professional working relationships with hospital, medical office, and clinical site directors under current contract to the schools.
  • Collects and maintains appropriate documentation related to clinical education, such as health forms, CPR certification, student evaluations and site evaluations.
  • Maintains on-going contact with existing contracts and ensures positive long-term relationships with employers.
  • Assists with Identifying and developing new professional medical and nursing relationships for additional/new clinical sites.
  • Ensures clinical faculty assess student knowledge & skill level under the direction of the Director of Nursing in order to promote safety & optimal care to patients assigned at the clinical site.
  • Oversees and manages operations associated with fostering and maintaining relationships with our clinical partners as well as the development and retention of clinical sites.


Education


  • Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Meet one of the following conditions: hold a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state accredited or approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or meet community college or state university teaching requirements in California.
  • A minimum of a baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE); OR


Licenses/Certifications


  • Must have approval by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) prior to assuming the role.
  • Must possess a Certificate of Completion of a course in teaching methodology of at least 30 hours.
  • Current unencumbered California license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
  • Current CPR card.


Knowledge/Experience


  • Minimum three (3) years of work related experience required. Of those three (3) years of experience, a minimum of two (2) years of practical experience must be as a licensed RN or LVN within the past five (5) years.
  • Minimum one (1) year teaching experience preferred.


Compensation: Minimum $73,954 Annually - Maximum $107,223 Annually
