Strategic Customers - Data Scientist

Oracle’s Strategic Customer Team has the mission to enable OCI's largest and most strategic customers. The Strategic Engineering Customers team is an inclusive and diverse team of high caliber PMs and Engineers focused on the AI/ML Pillar inside of the Strategic Engineering Customer team, distributed globally, who thrive on new challenges. We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist with technical expertise in deploying, configuring, and running ML/AI jobs on OCI GPUs, to join our growing team of multidisciplinary experts. As a Senior Principal Data Scientist, you will work closely with the technical and research teams on innovative, strategic projects including advanced applications of ML for the organization. This role is responsible for the technical direction of the team and for communication with both internal and external stakeholder leadership teams, and must demonstrate critical thinking abilities, outstanding communication skills, project management experience and the ability to lead other experienced technical professionals.
Responsibilities
Some examples of problems you will be working on:

• Work with business partners using a collaborative, agile approach to develop solutions rapidly that add value and are centered around growing our business
• Research opportunities to apply AI to our revenue operations
• Develop AI/ML or other mathematical/analytical models that support decision making within Oracle’s sales and go-to-market operations
• Identify and explore the potential use of internal and external data sources to achieve actionable business results
• Define data quality standards to ensure meaningful business outcomes
• Examine, interpret, and report analytical results in both written reports and in oral presentations to varied audiences

This is an individual contributor role, located within the US.
Must haves:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills with non-technical and technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability as a science leader or staff/principal level scientist, building AI/ML models for business applications. Experience working with large real-world data sets and building scalable models from big data to discover patterns, relationships, or structures within the data. Applied experience with a B2B sales organization highly valued.
• Strategic mind combined with drive for execution and getting things done. Maturity, balancing business goals and technical solutions very well
• Thought leadership and emotional intelligence persuading others of your ideas
• Experience with Data Visualization tools like matplotlib, ggplot, d3.js., Tableau, Oracle Analytics Cloud
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field
• Intellectual curiosity and hands on explorations on trending new technologies (e.g. ChatGPT)
• Strong statistical skills as basis for predictive performance and algorithm optimization techniques. Good knowledge of statistical programming languages such as R, or Python
