Job Responsibilities:
- Cross-trains to support other functional areas.
- Coordinate process operations and material movement from other departments and throughout the sterilization area. Places emphasis on meeting customer demands.
- Displays team empowerment and motivate other team members in the ability and willingness to develop and initiate change.
- Operates and is knowledgeable of sterilization equipment and computer systems.
- Support ISO 14000 recertification effort.
- Complete training programs and certification as required.
- Educated in all documents pertaining to the sterilization process as per assigned training in Compliance Wire.
- Maintenance of production work to include recording books, stamping run records, and books associated with the material or devices being sterilized. Knowledgeable of JDE, LIMS, and SCADA.
- Comply with established safety procedures and policies, with the intent of maintaining a safe working environment.
- Keep the area clean and orderly.
- Operate equipment to meet objectives detailed in standard operating procedures and process specifications.
- Support, understand, and adhere to continuous improvement principles and rules by identifying, evaluating, and resolving problems. Focuses on continuous improvement, quality, improved cycle times, safety, cost reductions, and customer satisfaction.
- Accountable for review of run records ambient and dry storage requirements of absorbable sutures and devices.
- Comply with all applicable quality management systems, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies. (For example: ISO 13485, ISO14001 & OSHAS18001).
- Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
- Demonstrates leadership to wage associates.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and the intent of the company credo.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Support Plant Diversity Process
- Performs other duties assigned as needed.
- For those who supervise or manage staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
- Demonstrates good communication skills with clear and concise oral and written communication skills that are required to effectively communicate work requirements, passions, and ideas.
- Actively communicates with the Microbiology department and or QA Sterilization in regard to product integrity and product sterility.
- Supports the training process as a subject matter expert and team member, as applicable.
- Recognizes and recommends improvement initiatives or corrections to process, quality and/or safety issues.
- Recognize “abnormal” operating conditions involving the sterilization process and implement proper responses including notification of facilitator or process engineers.
- Works under minimum supervision.
- Ensures the specified parameters are being met during the sterilization process.
Qualifications
- Completion of training as per Compliance Wire curriculum.
- Good computer skills.
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
